Bedroom
Your bedroom is a sacred zone that allows you to unwind after a hard day, and get cozy. This makes it doubly important to get its décor right.
Choosing colours, fabrics and furnishings that make you feel good are just as important as getting the lighting and ambience right. Shades of blue and purple are most popular for bedrooms because they are known to calm the mind and induce sleep. Purple is also a lavish colour synonymous with luxury. Shades of ivory can be used for rooms that receive less natural light during the day.
Busy colours like reds and oranges are best avoided for bedrooms because they tend to stimulate activity. However, combining walls of plums and wine with deeper orange furniture can create a sensual atmosphere.
Curtain colours and patterns can be contrasted or even blended with the colour scheme of the room. If you prefer bare light coloured walls, it is a good idea to jazz the curtains up with a delicate pattern or exciting fabrics like silks and crushed velvet.
